⚡BIO⚡

The Vandalettes are what happens when four women with deep roots in the
Northwest music scene stop worrying about genre and turn it up.

Together, they create a melodic, slightly unruly sound all their own. Everyone sings. The hooks stick. And the songs come with a strong point of view.

Heather-Jane Anderson started playing drums at 14 in Olympia, Washington, as the original drummer in Nisqually Delta Podunk Nightmare and Cactus Love, with a stint in The Wimps, years before the Northwest’s female led punk explosion had a name. Heather and Natalie later formed the Bad Apples, that later became the Rotten Apples and now fronts Jaguar Paw.

Bassist Natalie Parks has played with Seattle surf favorites the Mercury Four, The Repeat Offenders, and the Bad Apples/Rotten Apples. Her melodic instincts and rock-solid groove put muscle underneath the noise. She also plays flute duets in FlauteKast.

Guitarist Shelly White brings grit and swagger from Seattle punk-rock bands including The Gloryholes and her current band, The Heels.

Keyboardist, vocalist, and music teacher Cheli O’Bannan takes songs somewhere unexpected. Her time with The Loose Heels sharpened her two-beat country instincts, and she and Heather first played together in Honeybear.

A little bit country. A lot punk ’n’ roll. Americana with sharp teeth. Garage rock with harmonies.

Four voices, with plenty of nerve and no intention of staying in one lane.
